DESCRIPTION:MAY 14th FISHERVILLE DAY CELEBRATION \nMessiah Lutheran Church\, Faith United Methodist Church\, Fisherville Volunteer Fire Company\, and Lake Tobias Wildlife Park are planning the sixth celebration of Fisherville on May 14 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM\, 16 Church Street\, Halifax.  Fisherville will be celebrating 168 years! \nAn opening ceremony will be held at 10:00 AM. This year’s honorees are Carl Kinsinger and Ronnie Stoneroad.  Several veterans will also be presented with a Quilt of Valor. \nEntertainment includes the Joyful Ringers Handbell Choir playing in the Sanctuary of Messiah Lutheran Church from 11:00 AM to 11:20 AM;  Brad Crum performing a tribute to Elvis from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM; and John Dorman\, Dale Keller and Pastor Lewis Leeper performing from 1:15 PM to 2:15 PM.  \nThere will be homemade ham and bean soup\, chicken corn soup\, hot dogs\, hamburgers\, chicken fingers\, french fries\, baked goods\, and drinks. \nChildren’s activities will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  The Heaven on Hooves 4-H Club will provide pony rides from 11:00 AMto1:00 PM (weather permitting).  Also\, Jimbo the Clown will be there from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. \nMessiah Lutheran Church will have a yard sale and the residents of Fisherville are also invited to have yard sales that day. Craft vendors are welcome to participate.  There would not be a charge to set up but we would ask that an item be donated for the raffle table. \nA Fisherville Day book will be available. It will include articles on our 2022 and 2020 Honorees\, information on the recipients of the Quilts of Valor\, a 1944-45 newsletter to our servicemen from the Luther League of Messiah Lutheran Church; Fisherville News items published in the Halifax Gazette and Elizabethville Echo; the life of Lois Gwendolyn Rudy;  History of Jackson Township; History of Fisherville as written by Earl Deibler\, an 8th Grader;  stories of Fisherville; pictures of the past; and highlights of the 2019 Fisherville Day. \nPlease come\, bring your lawn chair and enjoy the day! It will be a great place to reminisce for those who attended school and church in Fisherville. And also for individuals who may live in Fisherville now or had lived there in the past.
